Dr.
Yelda Ertaş graduated from the Department of Chemistry at Middle
East Technical University (METU). She earned her master’s degree in
Nanotechnology and Nanomedicine at Hacettepe University and completed
her Ph.D. in Materials Science and Nanotechnology at the National
Nanotechnology Research Center (UNAM) of Bilkent University. During
her Ph.D. and postdoctoral studies, she focused on producing
nanofibers using electrospinning and exploring their use in
filtration and high-performance composite materials. Dr. Ertaş has
worked extensively with polybenzoxazine-based nanofibers,
polymer/resin blends, and organic-inorganic hybrid materials. She has
significant experience in environmental applications, including water
treatment, molecular filtration, removing heavy metal ions, and
separating dye molecules. She is skilled in advanced analysis
techniques such as SEM, XRD, XPS, FTIR, TGA, DMA, DSC, and ICP-MS.
Her work has been published in well-known international journals, and
she contributed a chapter to the book Advanced and Emerging
Polybenzoxazine Science and Technology.
Since
2021, Dr. Ertaş has been teaching at OSTİM Technical University,
where she continues her research in polybenzoxazine resins, composite
nanomaterials, functional nanofibers, and water
treatment technologies.
